i've been searching these forums.
reading all about your opinions on emusic.
i have a question now
if emusic is so badly raping the artists OR the labels,
why would the label allow this?
emusic didn't bust into the offices of matador or beggars
and it's subsidiaries killing the men and leaving with the
women and digital masters. if it's a shady deal, then why
would they let it happen?

um, have you heard about kazaaa? or maybe napster a few years back? something ($) , however miniscule, is better than nothing.

shady deal? my guess is it is totally non-exclusive and doesn't preclude matador from having digital downloads elsewhere or terminating the agreement at any moment.

my only concern with emusic is that it is subscription based and probably doesn't fairly compensate artists. given the current alternatives, not sure what else you can do.
