I'll be in Tampa mid-Sept. Since I can't surf there, what about places to see bands or good (aka Matador friendly) record shops????

not a lot of bands make it down here but there is a place in St. Pete. (across the bay from Tampa 20 min) called the State Theatre that usually has some good stuff. If you go to the beach try Clearwater. There is a place on the beach called Frenchys that has great sangria pitchers and good grouper. Have fun
There is also a Park Ave CDs in Clearwater. Park Ave. has two great stores in the Orlando area and just last year they opened a third store in Clearwater.

The place that Bitterfruit is referring to is actually called Mons Venus. It's a well-known strip club, near Raymond James Stadium. Folks in Tampa call that area Stripper Row cuz of all the tittie bars near the stadium. Now you know why Tampa is so popular with pro athletes.
Yeah, go to Vinyl Fever in South Tampa, which is on the same street as Mons Venus (Dale Mabry Blvd.). And as far as music venues go, try The Orpheum in Ybor City.

Come now, he was not liking me to athletes. Plus, I hate sports. Especially American sports. Football (the round ball) is nice. I'm not a rah-rah type of guy.
