The Pixies. Are back. Together. Music is saved.Oh, gimme a break.
As much as I've loved the Pixies, and would like to see em, I wasn't that overwhelmed with this. Assuming it's even true.
P.S. That new Frank Black solo album is really good.

I'd like to know what their "sources" are.

woah woah... calm down. it has to be a rumour... and there are many good reasons to doubt their sources...

There you have it, folks.
mtv AND pitchfork reported it. Two bastions of truth and accuracy.
where is your mind?

I just hope it's true. Even if it's not true, and even if the sources are dubious, there isn't anything (related to music, that is) that could make me happier than this alleged Pixies-reunification. Whee!

I shall not be teased by the mere children of Pitchfork.
Much more interesting is the Superchunk/Portastatic update.
Mojo...care to expand your denial into greater detail? Some of us (well, me) eat/breathe/sleep/live Pixies most days and rumors like these make our blood pressure rise.
all I can offer is a link from Billboard, which names its official source (the management) and puts it straight

they're not ruling it out, its just, it happens all the time. This is the second rumour to come out, I guess MTV has more power to make people believe it, than NME did a few months back when FB was being sarcastic.
I'm always super-wary of articles when they quote "an un-named source"

Well, my hopes are destroyed.
Pfft.
unless they could name a source who is close to the band, I'm taking all this with a large pinch of salt.
there's also a Frank Black interview with the Irish Times on the FB board, where he says he doesn't need to

maybe one day....
