These guys opened for Crooked Fingers and Spoon not too long ago. They made me wish I sat on the couch longer before leaving for the venue.

yeah i saw them open up for sleater-kinney this summer and felt the same way. i thought they started strong but it all sounded the same after a while. two drummers is always a neat trick though.

the only song I've ehard of theirs is GOD-AWFUL, like so bad it's good. Britt Daniel used to (and maybe still does?) date one of the girls in the band.

I haven't seen them live yet....I bought the album after reading a NY Time Out article about them a few months ago. Listening to it I can understand if it doesn't translate well to the stage. But the CD blows my mind.

It was recorded at the Rare Book Room in Brooklyn. Some friends claim the guy who runs the place is kind of a tool, but he sure knows how to record a band.

so far, i'm digging this album. interesting and unconventional song structures and some real standout tracks.

i can believe that this may be difficult to translate live, especially the piano and whatnot.
