I understand you were able to sum it up in one word BUT can you please elaborate why? :)

i've seen them twice and was underwhelmed the first time, but loved them the second time. i think venue's a big part of it - first time was at the hammerstein ballroom here in NYC ... big open (and packed) floor, sound was kinda muffled + boomy. not ideal for B+S. second time was at prospect park this summer and it was leagues better - i could actually hear what stuart was saying between songs (expect quite a bit of banter), and i could also pick out the individual instruments. lots going on during each song.

in both cases though, some songs turned out much better than i expected ("sleep the clock around" being a prime example both times) while others fell a little flat ("expectations", "get me away from here..."). all in all, i enjoy seeing them - looking forward to seeing them in november as well....

they're excellent live! I saw them a couple of years ago at Glastonbury and they were very different to what I expected to see/hear. I thought they would be a load of weirdo intellectuals with tweed jackets and monacles, but they were pretty normal looking and had a very relaxed, cool stage presence.

their songs were very upbeat and the whole set had a really happy atmosphere about it - maybe they're different in a more intimate setting, but at glasto they were very very cool!

enjoy the gig!
