The first MP3 from "Monsoon" has been posted. It's entitled "Get Your Crayons Out", and can be found on Preston's music page:

i am a huge fan of the first psoi album and i also have loved the work of tweedy since uncle tupelo. but this song sounds less than stellar. maybe it will grow on me. i just hope the rest of the album is better.

I agree. this song has certianly quelled my enthusiasm.

i expected the drum loop to end and for the song to begin, much in the same vein as say "discretion grove".
the song is distinctly different from coolin' by sound, which is a step in the right direction. and i knew that was a tweedy guitar squiggle in the background-it was a little "i'm the man that loves you" w/ palm mute.
i'll take the dizzee rascal over this for now, but i'll undoubtedly buy the psoi album anyway.
speaking of second fiddles: let it be...naked-if you could separate it from the holiday marketing ploy, it'd be an even more amazing record.

Sounds like a country version of "Two States".
Still, it wasn't bad. Its decent.

good call on two states. i like the song. i mean, its no IN THE ZONE or anything, but its a nice simple song. i like the looseness. the cheap horn-synth at the end is great.

yeah, it's not a bad song by any means, but it's not as good as anything from All This Sounds Gas. I'm sure Spiral will deliver for the new album, I have faith.
