What do the boardmembers here think? I saw them on the "Conan"-Comedy Central re-rerun on Friday-I thought they were pretty good. I may go check 'em out when they hit town next month. That "Jerry/Terry" song is pretty darn catchy!
As excellent as the new album is, 2001's Tyranny of Distance is even better.

Hearts Of Oak is a killer. It'll be a great year if there's 10 things on my list better than this.
I love the last one too. he's just so good...

Jesus. Makes me wish I still watched TV.
If'n you like Ted, be sure'n check out Chisel.
That conan performance inspired me to buy the album and I must say that I am now a big Ted Leo fan. Also he is coming to the Knox on March 21st, man is this guy great or what?

i saw ted leo + rx at brownies (before it closed). my right ear rang for 3 days afterward. he plays his heart out, but it didn't really grab me-his cover of "dancing in the dark" was dear though.
it's almost unnerving to see such an earnest performance-he could make greg sage look insincere-because it's so risky. i recommend seeing him after you listen to the discs/records. it's immensely rewarding to hear songs performed with such passion.

Wow! That's one thing that also attracts me to new artists.
I'm with you all the way. I get a huge kick out of seeing people enjoy what they do. It's somehow mutually gratifying.

Ted Leo writes quality songs and works harder than most musicians I know.
I'm really excited to see the recognition he's getting from this record, he really deserves it.

Downloaded some of their songs off their site, might pick up an album or two of theirs later.

Can't recommend this stuff highly enough! It's such a thrill to find a musician who can rock out, write a beautifully sophisticated/catchy melody, and pen lyrics of such intelligence, humour and sharpness. Really he's amazing--he's indie rock's new Scott Miller (the Game Theory/Loud Family dude, not the country guy!)
Track down his Treble in Trouble EP, also--not quite as stunning as the most recent records, but still fantastic.
