bad show

I absolutely love the new album. It is beautiful, but when I went to her at the knitting factory last night...well cat power live... it just does not work.
Chan seemed dissoriented and unprepaired. She droned on about how she was nervous.

Boy, all of these posts about how bad Chan is live just makes me want to see her in concert even more. I just gotta have that experience!

i've seen cat power live before and thus i am not expecting tonight's show at the knitting factory to sound like the album. perhaps you were not informed, but the show you saw was probably typical.

although a bunch of my friends declined my invitation because they know how much she 'sucks' live, i will be attending the show tonight because to me, it is beautiful that chan continues to put herself out there even though it is painful for her.

she is, as i urge us all to recall, human. and that means she has flaws. and to me, that is okay, and as a matter of fact, perfectly desireable.

i'm sorry that you couldn't see through your expectations to enjoy the moment in which a very nervous songstress shares herself with us. perhaps you will never see cat power live again b/c of your dissapointment, or perhaps next time you will be able to live in that moment and maybe see what it is like for someone who is not always comfortable with her own gifts.

anyway, just something to think about huh? i'm off to enjoy the show ;)

van halen, now that's performance (: i have seen 10 cat power shows in a few cities. some of them have been great. and i don't expect anything when going to Chan's shows. i am grateful if she shows up. she is a nice girl and was always kind to me and I am not bashing her. she has a beautiful voice.

her recordings are great!
