That's right -- 8 additions to the Matador Mid-Price Classics series -- CDs for 10 bucks.
Great albums from Belle and Sebastian, R.L. Burnside, Cat Power, Cornelius, Mogwai, Pavement (two of them), and Yo La Tengo.

how do you decide what goes in the cheapo pile and what doesn't?
mount florida in the xxxtra cheap pile? its sweet to be able to get that for $8, but just wondering why that's there and something else from that year isn't.
And if the PGMG CD is only $10 for 4-5 more days, why's the Dead Meadow still with no deadline, despite its earlier release date? is it based on # of copies sold?
you know me, always full of questions...

Ah, the vagaries of pricing... it's to do with contracts, history and when we think the market can stand a price increase, basically... and when we think the market needs a price decrease on catalog titles that aren't selling as well as they could.
CD pricing needs to be more elastic than it has been the past, and you're likely to see much more of this industrywide, in both directions, and often changing several times for given titles.

this is true in denmark at least. older titles get cheaper and newer ones are more expensive. when i last visited in '99 the dollar was way up and prices hadn't changed since i was on exchange in '96. it was like denmark was on sale (insert mall of europe comment here). stereo studio as lame as it is, is cheap, but then i'd end up talking beach boys with the guys at aarhus' badestue rock. (bathroom rock)
i'm glad to hear that these prices are changing. it's exciting to finally not feel sheepish about picking up "classics"

What's more odd is that this thread is sticky. Hmmm.
