Chan & Michael Hurley: Any thoughts?

Tho' a great admirer of Cat Power, I don't follow all the press on her & I am curious if she's ever spoken about Michael Hurley. As ya'll probably know, "Werewolf" and "Sweedeedee" are both Hurley tunes; I'd also guess she learned "Troubled Waters" from the same album, "Armchair Boogie" (Racoon lp, 1972). Sadly, this record has been out-of-print from almost the time it was released and is only available as a cd-r from Hurley himself.

There's a french interview/session that crops up on web pages where Chan talks about Michel Hurley and urges people to buy his records.

I saw him in Leicester last year and it was quite a variable show, he was obviously gifted (one of a kind) and some of the songs were cool but they were mixed with some stock country. I was expecting a lot after hearing Chan Marshall gushing about him on the interview but thought it was just OK.
