cat power dvd

i read in some magazine that there was gonna be a cat power dvd some time this year. i may have just misread but does anyone know anything about it?

A friend sent this to me, I think it's posted through Matador on the website or through an e-mail. Get excited...


We'll be releasing a Cat Power DVD this summer entitled 'A Film By Mark Borthwick' featuring more than 2 hours of footage shot by Mr. Borthwick, plus a video for "Free" that none of us have seen. The DVD will be accompanied by a 40 page book and a bonus CD featuring a new, unreleased 19 minute track.

And is there a chance the 19min track on the bonus CD is the recording Chan did with matt last year. I wish it wil be released for those are two of my favourite artists ever...

Now, Chan is one of my favorite artists, but can she pull off a 19 minute track that's interesting. Her songs seem to wander a lot as it is, and I like that... but for 19 minutes? That's longer than In-a-gadda-da-vida, and Iron Butterfly threw in guitar solos, organ solos and drum solos... do you really think a 19 minute Cat Power track will be interesting?

Wondered about the 19-minutes, myself--very few musicians could really pull that off--but maybe it'll be more like an ABBEY ROAD kinda' thing ... y'know, sorta' sections or something.

It'll be good, whatever it turns out to be. Hopefully not a lot of ambient filler or something with some C & G chords every minutes or so.

A DVD tho--that's great news.

I cannot wait for the DVD to come out. I've been wanting one for a long time, finally we're getting one and its 2 hrs long....plus the new vid for "Free"! Hell yea!
