All this recent talk of late-night headphones music made me realise - damn - I need good new headphones to kick back and get the full experience!

Can anyone recommend a good pair? I'm thinking, what, $80-120 US dollars, would that be the right price? Thanks.

Check out Grado. Amazing sound.

SR-60s are a great bargain, SR-80s and SR-125s are even better.

A Google search turns up SR-60s at $70, and you can probably find them for less...

Sony MDR-7506s. You should be able to get them for about $100 US - they're amazing sounding studio headphones. Try em before you buy anything else.

Thanks guys - will check out (mall bargains notwithstanding). Those Grado SR-60's look pretty awesome Patrick. Sony, too, must be worth a look.

i think i paid like 20 bucks for for my maxell "hp-550" headphones and i quite dig them, theyre dj style so you can pop them on and off and they have one of those stereo/mono switches, ive been thru dozens of headphones, maybe thats cuz i never pay more than 20 or 30 bucks for em. but these have been the best so far, and i just want to go on record as saying i hate those tiny "ear bud" style headphones

i bought some AKGs from musicians friend that were marked down to 19 from a lst of like 90 bucks. I had to go for the cheaper buy as headphones always seem to have a short lifespan in the ratsnest that is my studio. Speaking of which: does anyone know anything about headphone repair? Is it even worth the money or effort?

i say go with whatever makes you look like you have no need to discuss anything with anyone around you while you wear them.
