What kind of company is matador? There are so many labels around, but who runs them always seems invisible. So how many people work at Matador, who owns it, and is it part of a larger corporation?

I've read the FAQ before, but apparently I got caught up in why it's okay that I dont shave daily... this time I read the right section! Thanks friends.

But why then is Matador a member of the RIAA?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I'm sure that most people here own a few. I've probably got 20 or 25 myself.

...I wasn't sure whether or not that was in jest, so I looked it up... and they are members of the RIAA! I would critisize, but I don't know enough about the RIAA to make an intelligent decision regarding such matters.

They're *still* listed on the RIAA site?! With webmasters too incompetent to remove a single line of text, it's not surprising that the place gets hacked on a semi-regular basis.

For the millionth time, we are NOT fucking members of the RIAA!

If they put our names back up there AGAIN (we've had them remove us twice) I'm gonna kill someone. I can't load the RIAA site right now, probably because, as someone pointed out, it's being hit with DOS attacks or other such nonsense.

We've had public apologies posted on the boycott-riaa (http://www.boycott-riaa.com) site for this bullshit.

My most sincere apologies. It was in jest. I was of course fanning an old almost extinguished flame regarding that topic.

Well, you see, when I looked it up, it wasn't on www.riaa.org that I saw it. I couldn't load that site, so I searched for 'riaa members' and found a few different sites that contained a list, though it must've been old and outdated. Just so you know before you chastize them, if you already have - I'm sorry, but they deserve it.

Really though, how the hell can they put a company name on their website, as a member, if the company isn't affiliated. That sucks.

No worries, cso (and bf!) -- this kind of thing happens all the time. Between cached web pages and bureaucracy (we were at one point affiliated with Capitol and before that Atlantic), there's bound to be out-of-date or merely incorrect information floating around out there.

But do give us the benefit of the doubt and ask us before jumping to conclusions!
