I admit it. I may need my girlfriend to regulate. She already thinks she's in charge but when she keeps seeing new records and I have to make up excuses, "Baby, I've had that record for years. My momma gave me that for my birfday baby." ** pitch of voice rises as sentence is completed **
Anyway, on average, I think I am hitting $20-35 per week, unless my compulsive side gets really out of check....

I spend like $90 a week or so, basically all my disposable income.

Since I don't have a steady, er uuh, any income, I try to save for stuff that I am desperate for. So I go to the record store and look for it, they don't have it, and I end up compensating by buying 2 or 3 CDs that I just want. So I roughly spend $30-$45/week. But that depends on whether or not I go to shows. Gimme a show week and I might as well flush my cash down the toilet.

i'd say about $100 canadian a week.
i usually go to about 2 gigs a week, so that's $20. then the rest is cds and such.
oh man, i need to cut back.

I buy 3 new records every two weeks... Around $30... I pretty much stick to it too...
Actually, today's the day I go....Thinking about...
-Franz Ferdinand
Decemberists new EP
and... a Four Tet album (don't have one yet)
Any other suggestions before I head out the door?

I think I average about $30/week. but when I buy, I usually buy about $50-60 worth and then tell myslef to stay away from the record store...
then two weeks later or so.. $50-60 more...

Speakin'a which, here's the past week for me in purchases:
Ghost Exits - new 12"
Growing - s/t 7"
Joe Gibb & The Professionals - No Bones for the Dogs 2LP
Espers - s/t LP
Alvarius B & Dylan Nyoukis - Sugar: The Other White Meat LP
Espers and Joe Gibbs were pricey, so the total of $65ish is a bit painful. But those two records were more than worth the $20+ tags...

Yeah, I prefer to buy vinyl whenever possible...
Patrick, have you ever been to Enterprise Records in Portland, ME? all LPs, nothin else, and some pretty crazy old stuff there. crazy new stuff too. The owner prices stuff knowingly (i.e. you won't miraculously find something rare for cheap) but pretty fairly. It seems like someplace you'd be into...
johansen: the Espers LP was released by Time-Lag (http://www.time-lagrecords.com) in an edition of 300, super heavy vinyl all-analog mastered and pressed at RTI and packaged in a handmade screenprinted Unipak-style jacket. really a work of art, and that's before you even hear the amazing music etched on it...

tino,
Sadly have not been to Portland or indeed Maine itself for eons. Next time I'm there I wil definitely check out Enterprise.
