Hey - I'm looking for reccomendations on really good indie labels from the board - and into buying samplers from each to find some good new music. So, can some people please send some my way - and maybe even recommend a comp. on the site?

Thanks.

The K Records Invisible Shield comp from last year is good.

We've got a really great 15th Anniversary sampler coming this fall.

well, the two Matador comps are good. I prefer the first one, What's Up Matador?.

Other comps, not just label-specific comps, that I like or you might like [label in brackets]:

Troubleman Mixtape [Troubleman Unlimited]
Darla 100 [Darla]
Hey Drag City [Drag City]
Harmony of the Spheres [Drunken Fish]
DFA Compilation #1 [DFA]
Dischord 1981: Year In 7"S [Dischord]
Branches and Routes [Fat Cat]
Field and Streams [Kill Rock Stars]

I'm Like a Stepping Razor Don't You Watch My Size I'm Dangerous [Dim Mak]

I just picked this one up over the weekend. Excepting the fucking Von Bondies, it's front-to-back solid and only sets you back about $3-4.

Not much more to tell just yet... though we're planning some celebrations as well... sampler will be another collection of greatest hits and unreleased tracks. More info as it comes in.

I got an Absolutely Kosher sampler when I ordered The Wrens' The Meadowlands (limited edition) last year. It was pretty fucking solid.
