View Full Version : Anyone on here remember Sugartime?
This is a band that released I think one single on Simple Machines records in 1992 called "Awestruck". It remains one of the best pop/rock singles I own. I hadn't listened to it in a while but am in the process of converting my vinyl to MP3 and selling it off and this song just jumped out at me again.
Never heard much about them either before or after that and an allmusic search shows they pretty much just released that single. I think the guitarist had been in the Swans and Foetus which is surprising given what this single sounds like.

don't know that band, but on a similar "one single and then no more" tip is an amazing song called "Mod Cinema" by a band called Summer Hits, probably from the mid 90's sometime. total infectious noise pop, and I wish I could track down a copy of that single...
its tough doing a google search on a band called "Summer Hits"

i've always thought it's badass that a google search for "low" gives your their homepage as the first result.

Wasn't that the band with Norm Westburg from Swans and Rob Chamberlin on guitars? I think I've still got that around here somewhere. I remember it being decent but haven't listened to it in ages. I mostly bought it 'cause I knew Rob.
I didn't know anything about them until recently when I revisited that single.

wasn't Sugartime some sort of "all star" (star being a relative term of course) band, and was there a Nice Strong Arm component? or something...
