I had asked this question about a day or two before the board died, and never got to see if there was any response.

When was the band commentary for the music videos on the DVD recorded? I'm highly curious as to when they got together and did that, because the DVD doesn't make it all too clear.

Speaking of commentary, Nas is just riveting. Seriously. I watched it again recently and could watch hours of him just talking shit.

The band recorded their commentary tracks in Athens, Georgia on September 27th 1999, after soundcheck for the show they played that evening at the 40 Watt Club. I was living in a house with Jeff Mangum and Julian Koster of Neutral Milk Hotel, who used their home recording equiptment to help engineer the commentary tracks while we watched the videos on my editing system. If you listen closely I think you can hear the rain start to come in the window at some point.
