The concert in Manchester at NightnDay was absolutely amazing. The energy was intense.
I live in Rome, Italy and I'm originally from NYC. I have been a fan since I was 16...that being 1987. When I found out that MoB was playing in the UK, I checked it out. Missed the London show and booked a flight to Manchester. I flew to see them and next day, flew back.
I'm still smiling.

Wow, that's serious Robert. Glad you liked them.
Note to everyone else who might be reading this:
MISSION OF BURMA ARE THE BEST LIVE BAND ON THE PLANET RIGHT NOW and who knows how much longer you'll have a chance to see them?
These shows -- criminally -- are not selling out. I realize that ticket prices may be high, but trust me, it's worth it.

I wouldn't mind going to a Consonant show.

Hey again Rob! thanks so much for following up on all fronts with your posts and sharing the Burma fever with as many as possible. Being a Boston based Latin teacher Burma fanatic on the loose in Manchester who enounters an actor playing Glabius (where did they get this name?) in an HBO/BBC series "ROME" that's filming right now at Cinecitta (ah, Hollywood on the Tiber) definitely ranks as my top surreal moment of recent history. AND it intersects with another top moment from the past. I'll never forget sitting in Cinecitta in front of a scaled down Trevi fountain with a replica of the Las Vegas skyline on the hill behind me while to my left a chariot race of sorts was going on amidst the Ben Hur remnants and on my right a sword fight transpired in a manufactured Venice. Talk about surreal life! Geeze, is that stuff still around the lot? Good luck! Check out my response to your other post at live journal:

It was kind of depressing to see them at the TLA in Philly (especially after the sellout at the Irving Plaza)...fucking amazing brilliant energetic show, but the crowd was just not there. There were plenty of us up front pogoing and whatnot, but it's just ashame that this band doesn't sell out every night. I'd pay $100 to see them perform live.

I was at that TLA show too... and I agree. How incredible was "Youth Of America"?
Looking forward to New Haven Friday night... and the Siren Fest on Saturday.
