Burma fans should check out Denzel Washington's lastest film, The Manchurian Candidate (the remake of the classic 1962 John Frankenheimer film) for three reasons -

1. Roger Miller highly recommends it.
2. Director Jonathan Demme really loves Mission of Burma.
3. 10 seconds of the Burma track "Trem II" is used in the film in the scene where Denzel is with a Germanic doctor and is getting shock treatment. Listen carefully because the first half of those 10 seconds is muffled by screaming monkeys (the ones in the movie, not the ones that you hear in your head all of the time).

sorta related, in that Demme often uses good music (in weird scenes) in his movies. Love how The Fall's "Hip Priest" and Savage Republic's "Real Men" were used in Silence of the Lambs.

Angela Lansbury was apparently pissed that they made this movie.

can't say that I blame her, no offense to Mission of Burma, Matador, or even Denzel or Demme.
