I thought it was kind of funny, and yes, it is mean. The Onion thinks it is too cool for itself...If you liked that- they have a couple articles in a book called Da Capo http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0306812363/qid=1096389300/sr=ka-2/ref=pd_ka_2/002-5995094-7508052 One article entitled "37 Record-Store Clerks Feared Dead In Yo La Tengo Concert Disaster" is pretty funny but if you like music journalism you might be better off with a Lester Bangs book.

The Lemonheads weren't anywhere near as wretched as Matchbox Twenty. And Rob Thomas won't have the decency to go away for a few years like Evan Dando did.

Having seen the same Lemonheads video three times in the last two weeks, the M20 guy is pretty forgettable, whereas Evan Dando could use a good beating (I'm pretty sure people attending MC5 reunion shows will back me up on that fact).

I was totally gonna check out the MC5 thing when it hit NOLA in June, but I skipped out on it primarily because of Dando's participation. I definitely hate Rob Thomas far less intensely than I hate Evan Dildo. My only real problem with Rob Thomas is his haircut.

at least rob thomas is not as annoying as dando in the way that dando does nothing for years and his pr people still get him in all the crap magazines showing him hanging out with whoever this era's corey feldman and molly ringwald are and who he's fucking. he's kind of hilton-esque in that he's a celebrity for not really doing anything other than looking like a really hot hanson kid.
