So I have here a new copy of Antics, and I put it into my Mac (G4, running OS 10.2) and the audio disc icon shows up on the desktop as well as the Opendisc icon. No problems whatsoever playing the audio on the machine. When I click the Opendisc icon, I get the little window with another Opendisc icon and two shortcuts (one in french, one in english).

When I click either of the shortcuts or the main icon in the window, however, It acts like its about to open something, and a little Opendisc icon bounces in my OSX dock, but after a few seconds, it disappears and its like nothing happened. What am I (or the disc software or my OS) doing wrong?

thanks!

From the OpenDisc site:

Je n'arrive pas à lancer l'application Opendisc sous MAC
OSX. Que faire ?

Vous devez redémarrer sur un disque contenant un
système Mac OS 9.x mais ne pas utiliser le mode
d'émulation classique.

Bottom line, it does not appear that OpenDisc supports anything above Mac OS 9.x.

I take that back. Other places on the site indicate otherwise.
But note that they do not state 10.x, but indicate 10.3 explicitly.

"Mac OS 8.6, 9.0, 10.3 or later versions"

tinobeat,

We're almost all Mac here as you know, and most of us are on OS X 10.3.5.

For some reason, OpenDisc doesn't work on some Macs that use 10.3.5. We're not sure why. OpenDisc are investigating the problem and are attempting to come up with a solution.

For Windows users, there is an opposite problem - many of them can access OpenDisc just fine, but can't access the songs on the CD in iTunes or rip them to their iPods.

Don't you just love technology?

Email me all your system details, we'll add you to the list...
