anyone else hop on this yet? a five cd set on the excellent fledg'ling label, whom some of ya'll may know from their great Shirley Collins box & their partly great Fairport set... (i'm listening to "Tam Lin," live on the BBC, again right now. it's faster than the "Liege & Leif" version and wilder too; it sounds like Richard Thompson is about to FREAK the fuck out & then it fades down, damn damn.) (the ungreat parts of later Fairport are sorta dire but let's not dwell on that HERE.)
i've not tried to collect Sandy boots so almost all the unreleased stuff is new to me & given the... how you say, "inconsistencies" of solo Sandy, i'd almost go so far as to say a comp is the best way to listen to her (outside of Fairport).
note to the young people: if you dig Cat Power (i do also) or think Malkmus has pretty good taste...
the Hannibal five lp (or three cd) set "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" might (might) be a better introduction but if you have $60 to blow, this is a hell of a place to do so:
Sandy Denny, "A Boxful of Treasures."
enjoy,
sps
