the Peel sessions are so freaking awesome!!! I love how they come out kinda dark sounding and that they play rare songs. In the new Pavement book 'perfect sound forever'-one of the guys (I can't remember who?) says that the Peel sessions were 'definitely follow Stephen' as they were mostly improv.
a large majority of my fav Pav songs come from the sessions. so, what are yr favs?
here are some of mine...
1) kentucky cocktail
2) here (great version)
3) circa 1762
4) secret knowledge of the backroads (my all time fav!!!)
5) ed aims
6) rain ammunition
I wish there was an official release combining them all. I'm real glad that they are showing up on the re-issues-b/c I'm sure a lot of people never heard them. I have never heard the later peel sessions and I'm dying to! the only ones I've heard are the ones on the 'stuff up the cracks' bootleg. this bootleg has been my fav cd for like 6 years now.
does anyone have copies of the later peels???
