#1 - Will tickets for the Matador event be available through the Matador site?

#2 - Does anyone have an idea how long the sets will be? Specifically, I'm trying to figure out if the Jicks will play just a few tunes or a regular set.

Thanks.

Full-length sets... SXSW is strict about bands getting off and on real fast though so probably no encores except maybe a brief one- or two-songer from the headliners. Bands go on on the hour, sharp, at all SXSW events.

Doors at 8, openers at 9, each band on every hour after that until curfew at 2.

Tickets - we're still working on that particular issue. Details as it develops.

Thanks, Patrick...I'm glad these are real sets.

Any information that you all can share re: tickets would be very much appreciated.

It would be fantastic if we could get them directly from you guys.

that would be truly awesome but i get the feeling sxsw wouldn't allow such a thing.

Update:

Sorry, guys, there will almost certainly be no tickets - SXSW is really fierce on this issue these days, and you have to buy a wristband to get into any of the shows.

They go on sale to Austin residents very soon. Edit: you have to find someone in Austin to buy one for you if you want to go. Probably about $100, which isn't bad for 4 nights of live music.

This will be my first year going - can wristbands be purchased online?

I'm in DC and won't get to Austin until the day of the festivities...

I'd really suggest checking that with http://www.sxsw.com. Badges are still available for purchase. If you don't want to attend the convention stuff and just want a wristband for the gigs, they are sold to the general public, but we don't have on-sale info here.

the above link explains how it was handled last year.
