The band'll be called The Lizzie Borden Trio, but it'll just be guitar and drums.

No love for the lonely bassist :(

I don't know any bass players, personally.
I may wear lipstick for the performance.

when you don't know any bass players, make one. find someone you like, teach 'em some real easy stuff, make it all the more legendary with a "they just learned to play their instrument, even!" story

I kind of wanted to play up the fact that it was called a trio despite the fact that there were only two members
but maybe I could just pre-record drums
or I could get a second guitar and it could be a quartet

Perhaps Mr. HCI has advice on forming a band just to see if you can get a bunch of noisy songs put onto a hardcore punk compilation tape...

Just to set the story straight: we started the band, played live and made our first recording before we saw the Bad Compilations Tapes ad claiming to release anything sent to them. BTW, that tape has been reissued on CD but we were left off. :(

What a rip. Happy Flowers' place in history should not be denied.
Befitting this thread, I did see Happy Flowers play live at CBGB's. My memory's a bit foggy if it was on a bill with Big Black and Killdozer, or if Live Skull was involved at some point.

BB, KD, us and Pussy Galore, actually. It was in commemoration of the Gods Favorite Dog compilation but PG were on tour with BB hence their inclusion on the bill. Though I saw Live Skull at CB's probably more than once (and elsewhere, as well), we never played with them.

I must be confusing Jon Spencer with James Lo, which is a common mistake. :D
