well, not quite. but i just saw david byrne sing "this must be the place" and shit i'm still getting chills thinking about it. i love the talking heads, and i've seen byrne before - but no heads tunes. so to see him do one of my absolute favorites, and as a surprise ... wow.
it was at the arcade fire show in NYC tonight - he joined them for the last song. the place went nuts. and it was a pretty awesome show up until then too. 'funeral' has its moments but i never thought it was all that ... but the arcade fire put on a *hell* of a live show.

I would have loved to go to that show.
I was looking at tickets and and all that were left were the ones that were $100. I know Arcade Fire is good, but I didn't know they were that good.

i'm not sure any band is worth $100, at least not if face value is $15. but yeah, the live show is another league vs. the album IMO.
man man opened up BTW - weird stuff, but i really dug it. i need to hear their album.

one of my biggest regret is to never have seen Talking Heads live... What a miss... I really need a time machine, maybe I'll find one on ebay...

Ugh, amen to that. So many regrets... Damn my parents for playing the Bach story casettes when I was a kid (contained about 3% Bach, this is not me hating on the classics!), or the Jungle Book soundtrack. My kid will be raised on every new release and band still together before hitting the classics.

you should strike a good balance. My parents had me on a diet of classical and the first Led Zeppelin album. I figured out the new stuff on my own, and I'm doing pretty well.
