pathetic rambling about concert venues... LOCATIONS!

I have been in a dilemna since I have moved to L.A. Everytime I buy tickets to see a band I have to check the location to make sure that it is not too bad area to go around. Pathetic? Didn't always kept me from going but it is a annoyance, I am a recent exile from europe and not use to that issue.

Except that this time... I purchased tickets for a concert in february and forgot to check and guess what??? I am suppose to drive to the worse part of L.A. to go to that dump block of olympic auditorium, which I have been told is not the place to hang around, or if you do, don't bring anything along but a messenger if you need help LOL (yes, I rather laugh..)

So should I just not make a big deal and just go regardless, since it doesn't seems to bother the others going? Am I paranoid???

What do you think? how do you deal with safety issue?

Dont really have that problem here in NY, what part of LA is it? And i'd say go for it, always a chance you wont make it hope every time you step out your door :D What band?

As for safety, have a friend drive you there and pick you up if you're really concerned.

The Olympic isn't that bad, so I say go. Especially if you got tickets to go see Interpol.

really? ...Don't feel to cool about driving through those places ... I am not use to go to L.A. and never been to the east side...
When I went to see REM in L.A. I got accosted by a drug addict that went mad when I said I didn't have a cigarette.. And that wasn't the worst part of the town.. nor the best either, if there is any.... Maybe some people are more use to it than I am and maybe I should just learn to deal with it..

I think I hate L.A. it just sucks! why did I move here??
