all I have to say about the bonus EP is 6+ minute studio version of "Old Jerry"!

The EP is really good. "Old Jerry" sounds like a very loose demo, much more subdued than the amazing version from the Buenos Aires show. "Dymanic Calories" and "Fractions & Feelings" are both sunny day, fun pop songs. The inclusion of either on Pig Lib would definitely have changed the album's tone.

I feel the need to once again thank Matador for putting out the studio version of "Old Jerry." now the only Jicks song they played live on a regular basis that hasn't been released is "Grab it and Gone." maybe next album?

yeah, the bonus EP is good, but it still made me so sad to put down the vinyl version at the store today and buy the CD cos I'm a sucker for bonus crap.
but hey, what can you do? probably buy the vinyl as well if I decide I really really like the album, so I can use it for DJ sets..
I really like "Fractions and Feelings"

Couldn't find any Pig Lib with the bonus EP in my town! Fuck. Did the rest of Canada get shafted too?
Hi
We have recently undergone a change in distribution in Canada. This occured just prior to the release of Pig Lib. Matador is now distributed, along with the rest of the Beggars Group titles, by Distribution Select. I do not know if they have shipped all of their limited versions of Pig Lib yet (my gut feeling is that they have), but at the very least we might be able to put you in contact with a store in your area that has some.
You could also try ordering it here on our store.
Take care
Dave

The major chain store in my town, HMV, didn't even recieve any copies of Pig Lib yet and the Independent stores just didn't have the bonus EP. I must've went to atleast 6 or 7 stores yesterday looking for the EP but no luck. Ah well. I got the album without the EP.

In reply to Salman from Ottawa....
.... the last I heard is that a few copies of the limited edition Pig Lib were shipped to HMV Bayshore, so please give them a call to see if they have any left!
In Canada, we were only able to obtain a small portion of the limited version, but I know that there are still accounts out there that have stock left (although it is going fast)!
You can also email me privately, and I can try to help you find a copy in an area close to you.
Hope this helps - thanks!

Well, since I already bought a copy of Pig Lib, there's no real need to buy another copy just for the bonus EP. I'll probably just import the "Dark Wave" single from Domino or something.
Thanks for your help anyway. It was appreciated.

bonus EP is amazing...Old Jerry is definitely one of the great SM and Jicks songs, ever.

So unfair...my copy did not come with a bonus EP...so unfair.
EDIT: Crap, it's because I live in Canada, isn't it?

For those of you in the Calgary area, I last heard that there were a small handful of the limited-edition stock at Megatunes (932 17 Ave. S.W.). Try calling 403-229-3022. Good luck!

Ah crap, and I live in Calgary too...you gotta be kidding me...I just bought it a few days ago...urgh...urge to kill rising...
Johansen, I just heard Old Jerry and I think it is probably the best song on the entire album, ep or otherwise.
The EP has a very soft rock feel to it, but I love it. I don't know why some of those songs were left off of the album. Maybe in context they didn't fit in with the rest of the album as a whole (the album does have a very coherent vibe to it for the most part as it is) but everybody should try to get the album with the EP. Great stuff.

SM and his old band always had above-par EPs and singles. The Pig Lib Bonus EP warmed my heart (Fractions and Feelings especially). It has to be my favorite EP/single since Shady Lane.
