your discussions here about Trad Gras och Stenar intrigued me, and I found Mors Mors this morning when I was at the store to buy Pig Lib , and I figured why not?
I really really like it, and thanks for bringing my attention to it.
One funny thing I noticed after having checked out is that there was a sticker on the TG&S CD wth a blurb from SM. not funny so much as a "huh, how 'bout that, I'm buying SM and this other CD with a blurb..."
anyway, I'm rambling..
where to go next with TG&S? it appears they have a bunch of the old stuff reissued, and also a new new album... what's the word?

thanks (even though my name is neither hstencil nor Patrick)
The band will in all likelyhood come to the US in september to play some shows, at least in NYC. I have seen them a couple of times in the last few years and they still deliver in the most incredible way live. more info about the shows etc as it gets confirmed, but I can at least tell you now that there will be several chances to see them in NYC while they are here. If things work out they might play a few other cities as well.
There are rumors that Silence (Swedish label) will finally reissue Rock För Kropp Och Själ later in the year - that's the only one that hasn't been reissued yet.
The band released an album on Silence a little over a year ago, it's called Ajn Schvajn Draj. It doesn't have the overall magical touch of the old ones have but it is still an impressive album.
SM is a big fan - and TGS opened up for him in Sweden spring of 2001.

I answered a post about TGS somehwre else on here already a while ago about the other albums... but hey, ahem, Djungelns Lag is just as great as Mors Mors, then the two Harvester CDs are incredible too... the Gärdet live CD.. for pre-harvester experimental awesomeness you got the Pärson Sound double CD. check www.tgs.nu for deep info
you can't go wrong...

Thanks Jesper!
The store I got the CD at also had Djungelns Lag there, so I'll probably go in the next few days to pick that one up... I like getting into bands with a "bulk" mentality of picking up a few releases in quick succession.
so yeah, thanks again
cheers!

Fuck yes!!! Thanks for the info, Jesper! (for the record, it would be rad if Endless Boogie opened!)
Don't forget to thank Dave Martin, too, he had some good posts on TGoS.

i found a used copy of harvester's hemaat at my local record shop and it turns out it's the bootleg TGS warned against. do any of you have the "official" reissue? also: is there a domestic release of the TGS studio albums?

you should be able to track that and Sov Gott Rose Marie down at Other Music or Forced Exposure - they were released by Silence in Sweden.
The only US-released TGS/Harvester reissues are the ones on 1/2 Special "Djungelns Lag" and "Mors Mors"
Silence will in all likelyhood reissue the yet-to-be-on CD 1972 album "Rock För Kropp Och Själ" later this year, and then they have all been rereleased!! HEY --- don't forget TGS will be in the US to play shows in early OCTOBER this year, more info as things get confirmed

I am very proud to be able to announce the very first US tour of Swedish legends TRÄD GRÄS OCH STENAR. I urge you all to attend at least one of these shows. As you all know this band delivers some of the finest extended organic psychedelic jams ever created and have been playing together since the late 1960's... deep info on band at www.tgs.nu. If you need additional information please don't hesitate to ask me!
And, please forward this information to friends and foes!!! Dates are confirmed. Rock soild.
Thanks,
JE

hey jesper,
do you know if they'll have any merch along with them? i haven't been able to find sanctioned copies of the harvester stuff anywhere in my area. i'll be sure to say hey after their set. i wish they were headlining; we get so much bardo in philly that i think i'm turning into a lemur.

this was a great show. i think i'll be able to get a taped copy. all the guys were really friendly and put on an excellent and memorable act.
and some of them knew my first danish host dad who played in a band called Barbarella in the late 60's/early 70's.
and to think that some folks went to see the strokes that night...
room on fire my a$$. emphasis on $$

but it was excellent! Picked up Gardet and the tour-only LP too. How was the Hinthouse show? I heard the Saturday show was good, except for the bullshit buy-a-drink-ticket policy.
