I heard a commercial last night for addidas, there was a guy running around, ha had an afro. does anyone know the name of the band/singer who sings the song in the commercial? it was something about sunshine, I think.

such a bad explanation but I figured if I were to ask anyone it should be you guys.

I looked this up the other night.

The ad was directed by Spike Jonze, and the music for the ad was composed and produced by his brother, whose name I forget. the woman singing is Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

the song was made for the ad...

I have an MP3 of this. Pleasant enough track.

Ms. O has come a long way. From being on one of the greatest uber-cool indies to signing to Universal and getting regular airplay on MTV to voluntarily shilling for a shoe company. My my.

I thought "Since U Been Gone" was about the guy from the Liars.

But seriously, I saw that Adidas commercial and my first thought was that it looked like something Michael Gondry would've done. Though upon closer examination (ie. after learning it wasn't Gondry after all) , there are things about it that scream Spike J., too. More akin to "Being John Malkovich" than the Wax video (though that's pretty good too, if you turn the sound down).

Like it doesn't hold up after a second viewing? That's his "thing", man!
