I am desperate to find out who an artist is that I had on a tape about 6 years ago. The tape had bee thousand on one side and this other unknown (to me) band on the other.

It was female vocals, maybe some male. Great drumming, a really raw sound built primarily around one guitar and some drums. Female voice almost like Chan Marshall, the loose drums and jangly guitar almost like a yo la tengo sound.

The only lyrics I remember are from one song in which the girl sings, "I've been waiting for a stranger, to kill you, so I can...."
At least that is how I remember it.

Please help if this sounds familiar!

I was joking.

I do like Kittie, though.

What was the tapes origins? Friend? Helpful record store guy? What neck of the woods do you hail from?

I am from Chicago-area, but tape was from my brother's old roommate BJ from Louisville-- although I am not sure it was a tape affected by geography. I am just puzzled because it seems like it probably something from the bee thousand era-- but so f'ing good and ive never heard it anywhere else.
