Why is Telephono out of print?

Maybe this question has been addressed before, and, if so, pardon the repetition: but why is Telephono out of print? Does Matador have the power to rectify this situation?

I'm just curious. I already own a copy, which I bought new back in '96.

I asked Britt Daniel about this a couple years ago. the copyright for the album fell back into Spoon's possession, along with Soft Effects, and the plan is to eventually rerelease them on Merge, but it was on the backburner then and likely still is, as Merge probably doesn't want to hurt sales of the new album by flooding the marketplace with another Spoon album.

Hmm, I guess that makes sense. On the other hand, maybe the reissue would get more attention if it were released hot on the heels of the new album? Dunno.
