Oh man, one of my favorite bands. Why do all indie dvds have such good titles that make so much sense?

oh man
1. First, I thought this thread was called "Beulah Dud" and I was perfectly ready to agree.
2. Second, that's a pretty dumb title.

Beulah were always the most empty-handed band talentwise of the E6 collective. their albums were a forgettable abuse of studio time.

What????? have you ever listened to - Emma Blowgun's Last Stand, it will blow you away, aha. I think I listen to atleast one of their albums a day. I got the impression that a place like this would appreciate such a wonderful band, ouch. Though I would have to agree on the e6 thing, of montreal cannot be outdone.

They have a few decent songs, but yeah, they're pretty forgettable.
I can't wait to get the Tall Dwarfs re-issues.
Oddly enough Beulah's first record was one of the only few releases on the actual Elephant 6 label yet they probably have the least connection with E6 (not from Athens or Denver, etc) Robert Schneider of Apples recorded that first record & Beulah toured with Apples a little I think....but otherwise they always seemed more commercially ambitious than most E6 bands....I hear main dude Miles is a colossal asshole..
re: OTC
"Dusk at cubist castle" is definitely worth picking up!!.....I don't think there was a better psychedelic pop record made in the 90's...

Haters!
IMHO, Beulah is a band whose albums (if you'll allow me a record reviewers' cliche) "reward repeat listening."
I thought Yoko (yes, I'm kind of a latecomer) was pretty blah until I heard "Me and Jesus Don't Talk Anymore," which I immediately played over and over and over again. I began to appreciate the album as a whole after listening to it several times.
I've had pretty much the same experience with their other albums.
Unfortunately, I missed them last time they came to Houston. I'm eager to see the DVD.
