the 2005 album that has grown on me the most:

* the white stripes - get behind me satan. i went from being totally underwhelmed to being unable to take it out of my CD player.

and the ones that lost their bite:

* masha qrella - unsolved remained
* M.I.A. - arular. i still really like this, i just think i played it *way* too much when i first got it and burned out on it.

others?

Emoh by Lou Barlow faded really, really fast.

I've come around a bit on The Sunlandic Twins by Of Montreal, but I still think it pales in comparison to Satanic Panic. Also, Martha Wainwright's album has been growing on me as of late.

the Spoon album faded for me after a while, and the Jicks album went from pretty good to top 5 of the year material.

LCD faded to zero.
Face The Truth is sadly fading a little...

Dr. Dog went from "OK" to "album of the year (so far)"

faders -- out hud, the ebb and flow, skygreen leopards

growers -- high on fire, gang gang dance, mu (the latter two grow on me more and more every day. and i liked them to begin with)

i still need to hear that dr. dog cd.

growers -- high on fire I like that one more every time I listen to it. I'm looking forward to seeing them for the fourth time next week as part of the absurdly named Sounds from the Underground tour. I just hope I don't die from the heat. I also hope the bands I'm not familiar with don't suck too horribly but, what the heck, $21.80 to see GWAR, High on Fire, Opeth and Strapping Young Lad isn't bad at all.

did you ever hear that Jesu album, Mr HCI? No but I was never a big Godflesh fan. Judging by messages on other boards, a lot of folks love it.

i must say the new trail of dead went from "fucking anxious cannot wait to hear it!!" to "listening to it a couple days" to "not even listening to at all."

probably the big let down of 05 for me.

as of late the new oranges band and world leader pretend albums go back and forth in to my cd player. and im gettin real antsy to hear the new dandys album.

yeah its amazing. i can see how "smoke it" has that single vibe, and i think "all the money" wil follow it up. i think its an album they made for themselves, and for the fans. not one to introduce people to them with.
