What are some albums you discovered this year that came out in 2004? Tres Cosas by Juana Molina and the s/t from the Gris Gris would have probably made my top ten if I had discovered them last year.

the Black Keys' "Rubber Factory"
I'd completely written them off based on their previous albums, but holy hell did they pull it all together.

Solex "the Laughing Stock of Indie Rock"
I was left cold by her last few releases, so I was in no rush to seek this one out, but this turned out to be easily her best work yet.

Didn't come out in 2004 but the early Broken Social Scene project (?) (configuration?) KC Accidental's "Anthems for the Could've Bin Pills" is the one record I've listened to more than any other this year, and probably the year before as well.

Anyone else familiar with this? It seems to have gone curiously under the radar by the people I talk to about music.

There were a bunch of 2004 albums that I wasn't able to track down until 2005. Does that count? The standouts of those are Bungalow Hi by Wreckless Eric and Songbirds Lie by The Scene Is Now.
