flashback!, for everyone else anyway. me, i'm always late, but that's something else entirely. so let's talk about Rex the Dog, anything goes. has his identity been confirmed? has there been a better remix since "heartbeats?" (if so, ysi?) any news about singles, remixes, an album?

i'm lapping up just about everything he's done with "frequency" being the sucky exception and that remix of JX's "restless" being kinda meh. "we live in daddy's car" is a little bit of everything i want out of the Juan Maclean record i still haven't heard and that remix of the knife's "heartbeats" is my new favorite song if we quantify it by number of times played entirely.

c'mon, paul and 9000! i bet you guys love this! and hopefully earl grey will get back soon, i'm sure he'll have something interesting to say.

heh heh, just sort of interesting. i kinda know rex the dog ... heard one track a couple times, dunno the name, but it was definitely good! as far as his identity, he's playing at the total kompakt party later this month in cologne... wish i could be there. pretty much everyone on the label is playing.

the kompakt hotness for me this summer has been the baxendale single, i put that song on the ipod for my trip and gave it some serious love. not quite as much as that juan maclean album though. at the risk of overhyping it, it's got a very real shot at being my album of the year. at least until i hear the new fiery furnaces.

oh yeah - i'm back! fancy new setup here.

just once. went when it was sweeney, metro area guy, and mu. the place was so much more packed than i've ever seen it over the years.

major bummer: tiny beer stations and no more brooklyn brews. boo.

no more brooklyn beer? escandalo! cheap blanche de brooklyn was perhaps as big a draw as the music.

ooh, abita's not bad tho. if they've got purple haze on tap, i'd be impressed.

A lot of people on ILM talk about Rex the Dog, but I've still never heard a note of what he's done. I'll just assume I'm missing out on something great and get around to hearing it eventually.

you guys should really at least hear his remix of "heartbeats." just trust me once.

yo earl and 9000, aug 14-17 i'll be in nyc looking for people to consume alcohol/food/records with. i'll be in chelsea with the ladyfriend and we're trying to spend as little time in the hotel room as possible since it's such a short stay. we should meet up.
