Silly as it may sound , I've occasionally wondered what Laura thinks of her namesake. Surfing the 'net , I found this 2001 Time Out New York feature where Laura was played tracks without being told their details ; it started with this -

Laura Cantrell: Oh, Blu! I've been very curious to hear Blu. I was walking to the Mercury Lounge one night, and I saw all these Cantrell posters, and I was like, What is this? Is this an answer song? I wonder if she says "CAN-trell" or "can-TRELL." I've heard this song on KTU. I have a little KTU weakness, which is not a bad thing. Blu is a mood. She's got a nice voice, but I don't know if I could listen to 13 songs. KTU plays a lot of songs that are all hook, they're like fast food—when you're in the moment, you're like, This is so good!
