I only own "You Are Free" and wanted to know what y'all recommend for additional listening. I saw all of her records at the store, but was stupefied trying to pick one.

Recommendations / Rankings are greatly appreciated.

I'd say Moon Pix is definitely the "must have" record. On the other hand, you could start with her oldest stuff and work your way back up.

think it depends on whether u like heavy stuff, like her earlier records, or lighter stuff, like the newer ones.
i went WWTCT, myra lee, moon pix, dear sir, covers record
and that worked well.
i'd definitely go next with either WWTCT or myra lee..
it'll give u a little bit more perspective to go to older stuff than going to moon pix, which is the record most similar to u r free.

All I know is 2 of my least fave songs are on Moon Pixx, but I love the record, so...

I'd buy them all and try to take my own conclusions, tho I have the 1st five for at least 2 years and didn't quite make up my mind. I know it's cliche, but each one is special in their own way.

I love the first three and moonpix less so, still makng my mind up on you are free but I think that the covers album is absolutely incredible.

I know most of the tracks are covers which seems to make a strange favourite as the cat power songs are excellent but I think the vocal performances on the covers album are the best. And at the end of the day with the arrangements and edit's they can only loosely be called covers.

i don´t listen much to you are free. not as much as i did with the other records at least... i think i liked wwtct more when it came. i obsessed over that one for a while

Yeah, I know what u mean, I was obsessed by that too, but I was a teen discovering something amazing, and that feeling aged and got to where I am now on them.

I changed that list a dozen times so far... a few songs keep popping into mind and it shuffles instantly. I think you just need to experience all of them. Hard to jump between We All Die or Itchyhead to Moonshiner or ... too many to rank...

Hate to be a sap but you are free is my faorite so far it really surprised me as to how well it flowed.
