I used to be a Weezer fan before Rivers decided to dick over his true fans, and anyway I was wondering if you guys had heard any of the new Matt Sharp songs? I know he is tourning but he isn't coming anywhere near the Knox and I haven't been able to go. I really liked the Rentals for some reason and was wondering how his new stuff sounds. Well I'll let you get back to a better post now.

Dick over his own fans?? Please explain, as I don't see it that way.

"Dick over" is a little harsh, so allow me to explain. What I mean is that Rivers stopped writing songs that had depth and that were honest to himself. The 'green' album was an album that had no soul or emotion (except for Island) and it was a blatant attempt to make it on the TRL scene. All of that is fine, and Weezer has every right to do that, but the fans who liked their first album and Pinkerton would rather spend time 'in the garage' than in front of a tv set watching one Weezer video in between 5 boy bands videos. If you feel otherwise, than I cannot deny you that emotion; this is just my opinion.

A friend of mine told me at a Weezer show, Rivers refused to take a picture with him and his friends (I think, either that or sign an autograph) because they weren't members of the Weezer board.

If that's true, that's awfully dumb and just plain mean.

I agree with the emotion thing, but I wouldn't say it is dicking over, as Pinkerton, the one album where he has shown his emotions so far was received really badly at the time. Imagine such a long period being away from the outside world- he's not likely to lay his heart on the line with his come back album. Onto Matt Sharp, I'd much rather listen to an average Weezer album like Green than any of The Rentals boring, unmelodic uninspired crap.
