Sounds right to me, i remember an interview about three years ago when Chan said they wanted to film it someway cold but she was like "What do you mean?" "we have money for a video lets go someway nice and sunny"

I love that song, it's a brilliant tune wih a nice video to go with it. I actually think it would prefer a 'cold' location though.

Personally what I love about all this is that Chan Marshall, the lady who the press have portrayed as being the queen of pain and misery, would rather have a nice sunny video than a dark cold one.

This may sound a bit strange but one of the reasons I love Chan is in fact because of her 'being the queen of pain and misery' as you say. Am I just strange or is anybody else the same? Not that I wish her to lead a depressing/painful life but I love her moody and dark personality.

To be honest I think she's not really like that. When I met her she just seemed really happy despite whats happened to her. Her music gives me hope and to me its just life affirming music even though people who don't pay much attention will probably say its depressing.

I've not too clued up on Chan's past, I've only got into her within the past few years - what do you mean when you say 'what happened to her'?

Take your pick. Lots of bad things all around. Divorced parents, thrown out home at a young age, the show in New York where she thought she was going to be shot. If you google Cat Power and read lots of the interviews you will begin to see.:(

There is no god. If there is he's an arsehole. So many bad things shouldnt happen to such a lovely person. I only got into her abou a year ago and when I did I realised it was what Id been waiting for my whole life.

I was wondering the same thing. What has happened to her? I mean I obviously dont know her, but I consider myslef and big fan and try to keep up with whats going on. I mean sometimes she seems cheerful and happy, other times she comes across as depressed, which I guess is normal.

When I first got into her from what I saw and heard in her music I assumed that she was a really fragile person but considering the tragic hard life she's had and the fact that she's alive and doesnt complain about to me she's among the strongest people in the world.

This is a very good article called "I'm A Survivor" thats pretty thorough. (http://www.newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/arts/music/15528/)

She's clearly had a troubled life, but i can see what a good sense of humor Chan does process. The Strugle goes on but she's a very uniqe proformer one of a kind. I do agree slighty, she's very bold and broody too.
