I'm sure she had a good reason and that musicians cancel tours all the time. But what's the official word - good 'ole "exhaustion"? I hope she's OK. I saw her once when she was touring for YaF and her voice was really strong and she didn't look all nervous or spazzed out like I heard she sometimes got. I just hope the pressure didn't get to her.

i non-disclosed illness.
most of the "nervous breakdown" stories are tabloid-type hype for the salivating masses that have to have drama.
just how many times did it really happen?
when i saw her, she was on fire!

if you go to mtv.com, click Overdrive (which is their video section), and look for her appearance on Subterranean (which is their new version of 120 Minutes), you'll see her discuss the tour. the interview was so awkward and difficult--i think it sheds some light on the cancellation.

got a better hint at how to find this? mtv.com has absolutely the worst interface in the world for finding this - i clicked all over the fucking place and couldn't find it.
thanks very much.

I think mtv deliberately set out to make the most frustrating website ever.
When I finally found the thing it wouldn't play because I didn't have the correct plug-in. Then when I downloaded the fucking plug-in it says this: "We're sorry, but MTV Overdrive is currently unavailable in your territory" so I couldn't watch it anyway...
Here is the link: http://www.mtv.com/music/#/music/video/playlists.jhtml
its the 7th playlist down. I hope you have better luck than I did.

I'm kind of surprised she chose to do an interview with MTV. It doesn't seem like the majority of their target audience would even know who she is. I guess there's the MTV2 crowd but I don't know. I stopped watching once I graduated from high school.

the link from king of cats was just her introducing herself and then she says these are some videos she like and if you hevn't seen them maybe you'll likes them to. In all it's about thirty seconds.

I found the rest of the interview after searching some more I don't even know exactly how I found it. There were three other interview clips with the heading reading clip 1 Cat Power on memphis musicians clip 2 on the greatest clip 3 on touring. The first clip the interviewer talk about the names of the musicians and Chan disscused there names as well then he said it's going to be nice to see all of them on the road with her and she said it would be amazing if she can make. She said the crowds are probably going to be a bit bigger which makes her anxcious. The second clip the guy said that the album cover was pretty flashy for a Cat Power record Chan said it was supposed to be reflective so the owner could look in it and see thereselves and that the neckalace would appear to be around your neck. The third clip they talked about how many people would be going out on tour and all the different instruments they would be using. Hope this helps some for those who can't view it.

Cat Power was on an end cap in Target when I was in the other day. I'd say she's doing fine for herself in that respect.

Wow! Good for Chan she deserves it; she puts a lot of hard work into her music. Is The Greatest selling pretty well? I haven't heard too much about it, but if Cat Power's on end caps at Target they must have some fairly good distribution and publicity. I know I bought one that's for sure.

Thanks for the Interview information. I can understand how she feels. I'm sure the wait will be more and worth it when she finally does embark on a tour.
