Just wanted to let you know (if you weren't aware of this yet) that CP is featured with "I found a reason" in the V for Vendetta (upcoming movie directed by James McTeigue, written by the Wachowski brothers as an adaptation to the Alan Moore's famous graphic novel and interpreted by Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving among the others) OST.
I saw a preview of the movie recently, it was great and the Cat's song fit perfectly the mood of a certain scene. You can go on http://vforvendetta.warnerbros.com and select "soundtrack" above, you can then listen to high quality streaming samples of the whole CD (to be released soon), this song is one of only 3 non original songs in the compilation, all the rest is the soundscore by recently oscar nominated (for "pride and prejudice") composer Dario Marianelli

What I do know is that Alan Moore hates the film so much he refused the money they offered him and asked for his name to be taken off it.
Im sure he will love Chan's contribution though.:)
"I've read the screenplay," Mr. Moore said. "It's rubbish."

I had a bizarre experience with this. I heard 'I found a reason' on a compilation I made a long time ago, on Saturday morning, realised I couldn't find the covers record CD so bought a new one when I went into town.
I then went to see V for vendetta where my mind started to wander at one point, until I remembered how I'd bought the covers record and pictured the sleve. Suddenly the V guy presses a jukebox button and 'I found a reason' comes on.
Ridiculous coincidence.

I'm probley going to see the film next week as it's playing in a local cinama. Not sure if i'm going to like it or not. Does the Cat Power song/cover get's played during the movie itself?
Yes it does. I really liked it and highly recommend.

When I went to go see V For Vendetta last weekend, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Cat Power amid the various sweeping pieces in the movie.
I remarked to my boyfriend, who was sitting beside me, that it was really nice that in a facist future where art was destroyed, people were emotionally castrated, and horrible things happend in secret on a daily basis, an artist like Chan was still being played somewhere, if only underground.
It was a really beautiful song also. A beautiful movie, and I'm definately buying the soundtrack now.

As you may know by now the movie didn't do it for me. But what a great moment when the Cat Power song get's played it almost saved the film, they should've made that the song to dance to.

It just didn't do enough for me, nither as a polictical drama or as action moving it was very underplayed on many levels. I didn't think miss Portman was right for the role she did her best though. It was a waste of a good cast overall Hugo Reving was however because he behind a mask for most of the film and his charactor isn't bad or good really you can't get behind him emotion and thats a promblem i think. It had it's moment but i was left cold at the end.
