Hey folks the Brightblack Morning Light record is now up on the matador store for your buying pleasure. There's also a limited amount of the CDs out there at our direct accounts. Since this record is the official "Jam of the summer!" you'd be well advised to get your summer started right now.

nerdy production question:

the tan/brown on the cover, is that actually brown chipboard with the cover art printed on it, or is it just regular white coated cover stock with the brown printed on it?

Brown chipboard for the CD
The LP will not be on the chipboard, but I haven't actually seen the LP yet so I'm not 100% certain how to describe it.

I don't know how you did it, but this is the first Matador release in years that hasn't leaked before it was released to buy. YOU BEAT THE SYSTEM GUYS!

I was actually thinking just that! I wonder how a bunch of lovable hippies are going to react to the mass media attention that will follow them after this release hits the stores?

Lukas, don't jinx it! also, I'm sure the Matador publicity department has a workshop for newly signed bands: "how to cope with everyone jockin your shit, and what to do if they accidentally don't". two 1-hour meetings at the end of each quarter.

but, lovable hippies in general have been getting mass media attention for a coupla years now, so who knows...

Saw the vinyl version of the album listed on a mailout today from a store I visit in England when I'm over. It mentioned an extra track not on the cd. Did I miss something? Don't recall hearing about it before.

Yep, the vinyl has a bonus track. And it's a beautiful, beautiful package. You should pick it up (if you ask me, heh!).
