The Murder City Devils are reuniting for a show at the Capitol Hill Block Party, Seattle, July 28th or 29th (not sure which day). PGMG on the 28th too.

i helped put on a show w/ the murder city devils in school and was really psyched, i'd heard they were nuts live. but the space was huge and like 20 people showed up, and the stage never went aflame. plus they didn't play "dance hall music."

I want to say that they retired the fire thing after a while, but I have a vague memory of them doing it for their last show. Maybe it was only for special occasions (not that your school wasn't special).

The first time I saw them was Halloween '97(ish) and Spencer Moody came out in a sailor costume and the rest were dressed as cops. I only knew them by name at the time, and thought they were going to be a complete joke, but man they killed it that night.

we had to buy them a certain grade of rubbing alcohol as per their rider, so i think it was at least a possibility. (but we were also worried that it'd be our last show of the year if the band actually set the stage on fire with security around.)

I saw them here a few years ago, supporting At The Drive-In. Spencer Moody started throwing up mid track - but kept going with the vocals. What a trouper.
