hi everyone.
i saw chan a couple weeks ago in Minneapolis and i just wanted to get it off my chest how disappointed i was in the show.
i've heard about her issues with performing. i've read intereviews where she freaks out. at first i found it charming and kinda cute. i do not feel that way any longer, even though i still respect her as a musician and love her music just as much as i ever did.
during the show, i hardly ever felt like we were applauding her, rather, that we were cheering her on. i'm sorry, but i did not pay $20 to be someone's cheerleader. people were leaving early. even more people got up to pee or walk around or whatever. i stuck it out, though a few quick naps helped.
it would have been better had she not been alone for so long (like an hour). she should have brought back the band sooner and it would have been a great show. in fact, the highlight was "dead leaves and the dirty ground." another slight improvement during especially her little solo bit would have been to introduce the songs more instead of hardly being able to tell teh difference betwee songs.
