While reading through the latest news update, I came across Eitzel's tidbit that American Music Club is getting back together. Um, is this true? Will it have anything to do with Matador?
I'm just saying that I spontaneously ejaculated when I heard (or, more accurately, read) the news.
Also, where can I buy the anatomically correct My Little Eitzel?

Are you calling Mark a liar?
"Will it have anything to do with Matador?"
Too early to say. Either we'll be putting it out or we'll see you in line at the record store.

Eitzel-r-Us.

No comment about the other statement I see.

This is the best news of the years!
AMC is not only a lousy cables movie network but the bests American band of the decades 85-95! FUCK Replacements or REM!
But... does this mean Vudi, too? Or are they recording with that Greek choir shite? (just kidding -- loved that one). And whos producting the record? Bruce Kaphan say yes! No big names, please! Except how about Richard Carpenter? Genius.

...probably recording with Tom Mallon, and yes, Vudi is involved.
Not to muddy the issue or anything, but the new Mark E. solo stuff I heard (recorded with Jay Bennett) was very very good.

Oh man, Mark's not a liar, but sometimes things...uh..."fall through."
News of new solo Eitzel and possible AMC has made me very, very happy.

Man, what solo stuff has he done that *wasn't* good? 60 Watt and West might be a little weak, but still contain fine songs and performances... and his remaining solo dicks are ay-numbah-one!
Tom Mallon? Eh...

In this time of AMC reunion optimism I just thought I'd remind all that I run an AMC/Eitzel tour history & live archive site.
http://www.geocities.com/rsjbraz/touring.html
If anyone knows of any old dates that are not listed there or has anything interesting like old flyers/posters/photos etc I could add it would be much appreciated.

Oh, that's right, no Eitzel project has ever fallen through.

well the album is just about finished and the show is in less than two weeks so I think this can officially be said to have "not fallen through." even if, for some reason, the show didn't happen, the record was recorded. it's up to a record company to put it out. they will tour if it is released.

AMC played a whole slew of new songs and a whole bunch of old ones. And every song rocked. They're scheduling more shows now. The new album, when it gets released, should be awesome, a return to the Engine sound if last night was any indication.

wow it is too bad that matador is passing on the AMC album. I know the label and beggar's are took their chances with lots of artists over the past few years and have to play it safe financially now, but, I mean, still. I thought Gerard Cosley used to say he would always put out AMC.
