There are some more US dates to be added.... and a second tour early 2007. I'll mention Atlanta to them.

god they were amazing in DC last night! ira flailing around going bananas and the songs they played .. WOW deeping into movies>blue line swinger was clutch. one of the best shows i have ever been to.

just don't know what arthur lee song they did (something about being on someone's mind, or sweet as candy or soething) and a marc bolan song that was either a bob dylan cover or called bob dylan? i dunno.

Can someone post a setlist from last night's show?

>marc bolan song that was either a bob dylan cover or called bob dylan? i dunno

The T. Rex song "Ballrooms Of Mars" mentions Dylan.

weakest part/ story of yo la tango/ stockholm syndrome/ little eyes/ mr. tough/ beanbag chair/ song for mahila/ i feel like going home/ i should've known better/ sudden organ/ pass the hatchet/ look out for me ronnie/ from a motel 6/ deeper into movies/ blue line swinger
e1: you can have it all/ she's my best friend/ andalucia
e2: lucy baines/ paul is dead

there was no dylan or marc bolan cover. lucy baines is an arthur lee song performed by the american four.

excellent show. having seen the band more times than i can remember, it was quite refreshing to NOT hear autumn sweater, sugarcube, or tom courtenay. i know these are great songs, but they tend to be overplayed from the perspective of someone who sees them an average of 5-6 times per year.

yeah, they definitely tend to overplay certain songs - which is interesting, as i feel like they have a fanbase that tends to consume their shows in volume. (i try to catch as many of the NYC shows as possible, and i know a couple other folks in the same boat.) that said, "stockholm syndrome" is almost always a part of their shows, and i would be supremely disappointed if it ever got retired. i'd like to see "sudden organ" make the steady rotation too - it's sorta halfway there.

no "room got heavy" in that setlist. hope that changes on friday.

I completely agree. I expect to hear them once during the Hanukah shows, but I can do without hearing "Sugarcube" again.

I can never get tired of hearing "Blue Line Swinger".

If anyone needs I have a *really really good* extra seat for Friday night in Jersey City. Strangely, none of my friends want the ticket! I need new friends.

Setlist for Friday's Jersey City show (I think the order is right....)

Sugarcube/Pass The Hatchet/Flying Lesson/Weakest Part/Sometimes I dont get you/Mr Tough/Winter A Go Go/Beanbag Chair/I feel like going home/stockholm syndrome/I Shouldve Known better/Watch out for me ronnie/Tom courtenay/Story of yo la tango/I heard you looking

Encore 1:Oklahoma USA/Lewis/Rocks Off (Rolling Stones)
Encore 2:Cast a Shadow/Did I Tell you

Solid Show....Weakest Part to I feel like going home was "the piano section" with Ira playing piano except for when Georgia sat down at the piano for a beautiful version of "I feel like going home".....Cast a shadow was given the Beat Happening original treatment while Did I tell you shined with just Ira on piano, James on bass, and Georgia singing superb backup

Feel free to add/correct...I might have missed one or 2 songs

i think that's about right. the # of songs looks low, but i think that's b/c many of the songs went long ... i can't think of any that you missed.

great show though! the guitar jams were all outstanding, "pass the hatchet" and "story of YLT" are absolute monsters live. i actually liked the piano section a lot, the only song that felt a little flat to me was "sometimes i don't get you" (even tho it's one of my faves on the record). but i thought "mr. tough" and "beanbag chair" sounded great even though there were no horns, and "winter a go go" was surprisingly great w/o the organs.

my biggest gripe is re: my seats - i was in the front row, but on the extreme left side ... so while the view of james + ira was perfect, the organ setup completely blocked my view of georgia.

So I saw them yesterday. It was completely amazing. They played 2 15min+ (I think) songs, which were most of the time instrumental. In both songs lyrics came only in the end. Would anyone know the titles?

"the story of yo la tango" and "blue line swinger" would be my guesses.
