Someone posted this on the Faust list this morning. I laughed out loud many times. I have never lent Stephen Malkmus saline solution.

Yeah, that slap was priceless.
The dudes who made that have a new video. Not as funny as the first one, but still good:

"Clell Tickle: Indie Marketing Guru" runs a close second to this one.

Maybe I'm losing it, but didn't someone post the OM sketch here a while ago? Worth revisiting though :D

Fun fact about the Clell Tickle video: a fair amount of it was filmed in the Matador/Beggars office! The secret's out!

Whose gold record is that, Interpol? ;)

Joel

I'd have to check, but yeah, I think it's a UK Gold for Interpol. Sadly before my time at Matador, so I don't have one.

I'll keep quiet about the "wood" and "rust" award scale written on the warehouse shipping table, though.

I saw a gold record for a Liz Phair album when I visited the Matador offices last October.

Id wondered why there was a picture of our Chan in the background.

Artist placement?:)

Id wondered why there was a picture of our Chan in the background.Totally off topic, but I've been wondering this for years: why are Cat Power fans so weird and creepy and possessive of Chan Marshall? It's almost cultish at times.

Are you calling me creepy?:eek:Not you in particular, but I've perused the MBB Cat Power board before as well as Cat Power gatherings in other places on the web and a lot of your kind lives in a totally separate reality.

Hmmm... I don't really know what to say. I did once go through the MBB Cat Power archive to see what folks had been saying about her before I came here and I noticed that some people were getting a bit carried away. For myself personally I would just say that I do as much as I can to support and champion her endeavors as I can and even though it may sometimes appear that I know everything about her (maybe to some people it would appear to be TOO much) its only stuff Ive learnt from googling her and reading as many interviews as I could find.:)

Who's Oliver?

The same goes for us Pavement heads, but I am sorta past that stage...I've only listened to one Malkmus album today. Plus Chan is hot, so there is always that factor.

Pavement was the band that lead me into music. A couple of summers ago the only album i had with me was slanted and enchanted. 1 album a day is an improvement aha.

I remember a time when I could say this about Wham. I should contextualise and mention that this was in 1984.

I just listened to that today for the first time in a while. Sometimes I just marvel at Malkmus' playing, he has real command of switching between melodic and frantic stuff and knowing the right time to do so.:)
