dude. some of the tracks on 'you are free' are so freakin scary. half the time i have no idea what she's saying. the other half i am scared shitless.

musing particularly on 'maybe not' at the moment.

what does it mean to be "free with your mind"?

and when she says, " you know who I am", what is she talking about?

I would ask her personally but don't know how to do that.

I think she is talking about the hole mankind as such. How we have to start with our selfs in order to get this world going in the right direction. The thing about free, with your mind, is about that. You can't get free from the outer world, and it's problems, but you can get free in a way, or releaved, from the things that haunt you if you deal with them. I think it's what the whole album is all about. It's a kind of an existentialistic standpoint, to not fool yourself into not acting and being afraid of your angst, but to see that by living your life, your living everybody elses, and that everyone is equaly responsible for all things going on in this messed up world. And mostly of all, to live, to accept your freedom, to not be afraid of it, to be free, not just only to choose A or B, but to choose with your heart.

I think when she is saying "you're just a man you'll do what you can". She is saying that we shoulden't just fall into patterns already laid out by somebody else, but that we should accept this freedom that we really have. And if we just dared to belive we could make a stand, change things, and change our selfs.

I don't know what I'm saying anymore, who I'm trying to be and what I'm trying to do. It's frustrating. What did I say now? (talking in the beard, the one I don't have)
