Sorry for the delay everyone - between my travelling and the number of correct and nearly-correct answers (and the bonus points that we will be giving those who correctly named more than 7 other bands SM has been in), it has taken longer than expected to pull this together.

We will be informing the winners and announcing their names on the trivia contest page THIS COMING MONDAY, MAY 12.

Thanks for your patience and for taking part in a ridiculously complicated and difficult contest.

Hey, giving bonus points to those who correctly named more than 7 other bands SM has been in, is a bit unfair... because maybe some people were able to mention more than 7 bands but only mentionned 7 bands since they were supposed to mention 7 bands (not "at least 7 bands")...

Hmm...

But of course that's just my humble opinion. After all, it's your contest, so I don't blame you for anything...

Bonus points should be thrown out...that was not mentioned in the contest in the first place. I think there are people out there that could of named more than seven but didn't.
Your move.

Sorry, we did end up giving extra credit in some instances. Initiative and all that, you know.

Winners will be announced Monday.

you should maybe give something to the people who's questions were picked, hint hint.

Bonus points?? Well that's just unfair to people who were able to read the question properly! Roar!

I agree with you 110% Seamus. Just like that Pavement song, it is "Unfair".

Sob. Well at least I was the first non-winner to be mentioned. Sigh. And "amplied" was NEVER a hint! haha

I didn't see every show they did but I don't recall Stephen being a member of Ectoslavia. Of course, I'm assuming he OK'd the answers.

that Jr. High question was brilliant.

Stephen did vet all the answers, Mr. HCI...

Apparently he and Bob were kicked out of Ectoslavia. Read all about it here:

Interesting. From what I recall, Ectoslavia was started as a challenge to Doom, a large-scale ensemble that featured David Berman's "twin" Rob Chamberlain (who later played in Sugartime with Norm Westberg of Swans).

Well, do the folks that got the answers correct receive any treats? Maybe a Jicks poster or something for the hard work???
Thanks!

Good idea. You should give those people a Jicks poster.

And, quick as a flash . . . Good old Matador. As someone once said, "Matador is nice"
